Health & Wellbeing
Supporting healthier lives and stronger communities
At Theori, we believe that having a safe, secure home is the foundation of good health and wellbeing. Feeling settled where you live can have a positive impact on your physical health, mental wellbeing, and overall quality of life.
While we are committed to providing well-managed homes and responsive housing services, we also recognise that everyone may need additional support from time to time. That’s why we encourage tenants to look after their wellbeing and access the help and services available within their local community.
Your wellbeing matters
Health and wellbeing are about more than just physical health. They include your mental and emotional wellbeing, financial stability, social connections, and feeling safe and supported in your home.
Whether you’re settling into a new property, managing day-to-day challenges, or simply looking for advice, there are organisations and services that can help.
Looking after your physical health
Maintaining good physical health can improve your overall wellbeing and help you enjoy everyday life.
Simple ways to stay healthy include:
- Eating a balanced and nutritious diet
- Staying physically active
- Getting enough sleep and rest
- Attending routine health appointments and screenings
- Registering with a local GP if you have recently moved
- Seeking medical advice if you feel unwell
If you have concerns about your health, contact your GP or another healthcare professional for advice.
Supporting your mental wellbeing
Looking after your mental health is just as important as caring for your physical health.
Everyone experiences stress or difficult periods at times, but there are simple ways to support your wellbeing:
- Keep in touch with family and friends
- Spend time outdoors whenever possible
- Maintain a regular daily routine
- Take time to relax and unwind
- Talk to someone you trust if you're feeling overwhelmed
- Seek professional support when you need it
If you’re finding things difficult, remember that asking for help is a positive step, and support is available.
Financial wellbeing
Money worries can affect many aspects of everyday life. If you’re struggling with household finances or finding it difficult to meet your rent or other essential costs, it’s important to seek advice as early as possible.
There are organisations that can provide guidance on:
- Budgeting and money management
- Benefits and financial support
- Debt advice
- Employment and training opportunities
If you’re experiencing financial difficulties, please contact Theori as soon as possible. We may be able to signpost you to appropriate support services and discuss your circumstances.
Creating a safe and happy home
Your home should be somewhere you feel safe, comfortable, and able to relax.
You can help maintain a positive living environment by:
- Keeping your property clean and well cared for
- Reporting repairs promptly
- Testing smoke alarms regularly
- Disposing of waste responsibly
- Being considerate towards your neighbours
- Following your tenancy agreement
Working together helps create safer, happier communities for everyone.
